JOLLY ARCHERS – Days Vary (Contact Us For Further Details)
The Jolly Archers Of Houghton & Wyton came into being on 1st August 1962 at a meeting held in the Three Jolly Butchers public house in Wyton
village. The Club has grown from the initial ten members and is currently one of the largest in Cambridgeshire. We have club archers who compete at National level, some at county level and some at club level shooting alongside novice archers and those who just shoot for fun. The club has a positive attitude to introducing people to the sport; we have worked with Huntingdon District Council and local charities by offering 'taster sessions' and provided "Have a go's" at local fêtes and for local clubs.

Pilates with Mel Batterbee
Hello
I am Melanie, I am a level 3 Pilates instructor, HFE London trained.
I offer Pilates classes at the Victory Hall , Somersham, Fridays at 9.30-10.30 am . Classes are suitable for all abilities,
The Victory Hall at Somersham offers a comfortable environment, Pilates Mats, Balls and Resistance bands are provided, nothing is required from home, please just come along in leggings/joggers and a t shirt or fitness clothes, no shoes are required, just socks please. I teach traditional Pilates, including Lateral breathing throughout the exercises, Using the correct breathing technique is important to the Pilates principles, as it allows you to be able to control the body's muscles to perform the exercises to maximum benefits, Breathing begins to focus on exhalation, during exhalation we gently squeeze in the lower stomach muscles, this leads to a stronger more toned core , which can improve our posture and support the back to maintain better posture.
Pilates can offer so many more benefits, some of which include improved balance, posture and flexibility, Correct posture is so important for everyday life, and can reduce aches and pains, leading to better mobility for daily tasks, and as i mentioned Pilates also activates your deep and local core muscles to improve your core strength leading to a more toned body!
One to one Pilates and posture assessments
Do you feel less flexible, or have regular discomfort? These problems can stem from poor posture and/or weak muscles,
One to one Pilates in your own home, starts with a full postural assessment, locating any problems within your posture, followed by a plan of exercises according to your own individual needs, specific to any problem areas we may find during your assessment, we can then work through the planned exercise programme at a suitable time for you, to help improve your daily life.
